Torfaen is positioned on the national motorway network making road travel easy. The M4 motorway connects Torfaen with London, the vital southeast UK market and onwards through the Channel Tunnel to Europe. An excellent network of modern dual carriageways places the centre of Torfaen no more than 15 minutes by truck from the closest motorway interchanges. All of the major UK cities are on the rail network, easily accessible from Torfaen. UK and European cities are reached by frequent direct schedules from Cardiff International and Bristol airports; both within 40 minutes drive from Torfaen. For transatlantic and other long haul flights, London's Heathrow Airport is easy to reach by rail and road, taking approx. 1hr 15 mins by car. Birmingham also flies transatlantic flights. Newport Docks just 20 minutes away and able to handle vessels up to 40,000 tonnes.
